I David Metcalf of Camanche Clinton County Iowa being of sound mind make this my last will and testament.

I give devise and bequeath my homestead and all my real property consisting of the west half of Block eight (8) and Lots five (5) and six (6) in Block in Block fourteen (14) in Harts Addition to the City of Comanche Iowa. Also two and one half (2 ½) acres of woodland one Beaver Island in Doolittles division being the (north)???? half of Lot four (4) jointly to my Son William Metcalf and my daughter Sarah Graves in consideration that they pay to my five grand children the sum of twenty dollars each to be paid one year after my death. To my three grandchildren Elizabeth, William and Henry Metcalf each twenty dollars to be paid to them severally as they become of lawful age. I hereby nominate and appoint my son William Metcalf and my daughter Sarah Graves joint executors of this without bonds.

In witness whereof I have signed and sealed and published and declared this instrument as my last will dated at Comanche this 1st. day of Oct. 1886.

The said David Metcalf at Camanche on the 1st day of October A. D. 1886 signed and sealed this instrument and published and declared the same as and for his last will and we at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto written our names as subscribing witnesses.

I William Kreim, clerk of the District Court in and for said County do hereby certify that on this day at the January Term A. D. 1884 of said Court the will and instrument in writing hereunto annexed and bearing date in the xx day of xxx 188x was duly proved before and allowed by said court as and for the last will and testament of the real and personal estate of David Metcalf late of said County deceased and was by said Court ordered to be recorded as such will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto at my hand and affixed the seal of the court at my office in Clinton in said County this 25th day of March A. D. 1889.
