The Clinton Daily Herald August 2, 1905 p. 3 Miss Huston and A.C. Smith Wed Rev. E.B. Dean Joins Popular Clinton Couple In Matrimony's Bonds Relatives Witness 9 O’clock Ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Smith on Eastern Wedding Tour - Will Make Their Home at 427 Fifth Avenue. None but relatives of Miss Grace A. Huston and Alfred Cox Smith of this city, were present at their wedding, which was solemnized at 9 o'clock Tuesday night at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Huston, 500 Fourth avenue. Rev. E.B. Dean performed the wedding ceremony. Miss Marie L. Huston attended the bride as maid of honor, and Harry Goodyear Costello of New York city officiated as groomsman. After the simple and impressive ceremony the guests partook of the nuptial repast in the dining room, where decorations of sweet peas and smilax were in evidence. A mound of white pea blossoms with candelabra in the center adorned the table, while smilax was entwined in the chandeliers. Throughout the other rooms pink roses were displayed in profusion, the only decorative effect. Many handsome presents were received. Mr. and Mrs. Smith went to eastern cities on a wedding tour. They will be at home at 427 Fifth avenue after October 15. Miss Huston is prominent in Clinton's social circles, a young lady who is held in the highest esteem by her many friends, a bride of many personal charms and attainments. Mr. Smith is the son of President A.G. Smith of the City National bank, and holds the responsible position of cashier at the Fifth avenue institution. He was born in Clinton, attended the public schools, and later completed his education at Lake Forest academy and Yale college, graduating from both institutions, for the latter in 1899. The wide circle of friends of this popular young couple join in wishing them much happiness.
