The Clinton Herald Wednesday February 15, 1939 p. 3 Miss Eleanor Smith and J.M. Kramer Wed In Afternoon Ceremony Cards are out announcing the marriage of Miss Eleanor Grace Smith, daughter of Mrs. Alfred Cox Smith, and the late A.C. Smith, 431 Fifth avenue, South, and Jay Martin Kramer Jr., of this city, formerly of Chicago, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Martin Kramer, Chicago. The pretty home ceremony took place at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. Harry E. Harned of First Congregational church hearing the vows in the presence of the immediate family and intimate friends of the bride. Miss Smith wore her mother's wedding gown of ivory lace and carried a colonial bouquet of gardenias, white roses and violets. Her maid of honor, her sister, Miss Elizabeth Ann Smith, was in white net, the gown worn by her aunt, Miss Mary Huston, when she was maid of honor at the wedding of her sister, Mrs. Smith. Her flowers were a nosegay of multi-colored flowers. Jack Klinger attended Mr. Kramer as best man. An informal tea followed the ceremony after which Mr. and Mrs. Kramer left for Chicago. They will be at home at 503 Fourth avenue, South, after March 15.
