The Clinton Herald Saturday June 26, 1943 p. 8 Lt. Edward T. Carey, Jr., has been promoted to the rank of captain at Fort Devins, Mass., where he is stationed with a base hospital unit. He has been in service one year and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward T. Carey, Sr., 826 Sixth avenue, South. Mr. and Mrs. Carey also have received word that their son, Sgt. Alan J. Carey, now stationed somewhere in India, has been promoted to the rank of staff sergeant. He is with the army air forces and has been overseas 1 1/2 years. (with Photo)
