The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 27, 1891

Mechanicsville Press: Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Marvin, of Clinton, were in town two or three days during the past week, visiting friends. Mr. Marvin was one of the first conductors of the Iowa division of the C. & N. W., taking out the first train on that line that came out of Maquoketa and Anamosa. Some years ago, while out riding with a friend in Iowa, the buggy was overturned, he received injured from which he never recovered. Unlike the majority of railroad men, he has had enough of the world’s goods to keep him in his old age. It is four years since he visited our city before, and the improvements on every hand are sources of pride and praise on his part.
