In Response To: Early farm family (Sherrill Necessary)

Findagrave has a Fayette County history excerpt about Wellingtons older brother very successful Alexander which would explain Wellingtons presence in Fayette co.
Supposedly Wellington was ill for 16 years before his death (1885 state census Familysearch.org). Wellington was a Civil war vet and had a pension. I would highly recommend obtaining the pension file(not on line). As far as land his children were not interested in farming according to 1900 census. The farms he was on could possibly be located via county records on film but they are not on line.
