Hello, my name is Courtney Rice. I spent my summers in Guttenberg and my husband and I recently bought a home in Garnavillo. I am extremely interested in the history of our home. There is an inscription in our basement wall with the following names on it: Geo Hill, Jim Peterson, John Possehl, G. T. Schmidt. It is dated Sept. 18, 1918. We live at 207 S Main St. It is the big brick house. I am wondering if you may have any history about the house and land. Who built it and who has lived here? What was here before the house? I would love any and all information and leads about anything pertaining to the house! Thank you.
