I am searching for information on my great, great grandparents, Jacob and Betsy Jacobson. Betsy also went by Knudson. And we found one of the sons buried under the name of Jakobsen. We assume them to be born around the 1840s if they started having children in their 20's. Lived in Gunder. They had 8 children: Ole b.1878 d.1916; Tollef b.1876 d.1887; Julia(Guri) aka Mrs John Weberg of Inwood; Nellie (Gunel) aka Mrs. Joseph Weberg of Inwood; Knut b.1963(married Catherine and lived in ND); ?name aka Mrs Ben Chraft(Sp?) somewhere in Minnesota; and my great grandmother Julia (Guro) b.1865 aka Mrs Andrew Nyberg. Tollef we found thru the St Olaf parrish records as being buried in Marion Cemetery as Tollef Jakobsen (died at age 13) - we don't know where as there is no marker. The St Olaf records also indicate a Jakob Knudsen is buried in an unmarked grave at Marion - died 1884 at age 50 so that would put him born 1834... which if this is the same person, he would have been 29 when his first child, Knut, was born. Letters from Knute to cousins state Betsy is buried by Ole and Tollef. We are tracking that one down as we have a marker for Ole with two unmarked grave lots in the plot beside him. We know very little about Jacob or Betsy and hope someone who knew the sisters that married the Weberg brothers may have some information. In fact we know practily nothing about Jacob and perhaps the one that died at age 50 is our Jacob (Jakob?) and that's why no one remembers him. But that is a stab in the dark at this point. Thanks!
