My grandmother was Josephine Meder from Mederville, Iowa. Her father owned the mill that was ruined by a cottonwood tree. He took 100 pounds of "sack flour" on the train to what is now Tuttle, Oklahoma and opened the first general store there. After he settled he sent for the family. My grandmother was a little girl when she came to Tuttle. I can tell you a lot more if you want to chat!

Her parents were Louis Meder and Sarah (Leonard)

Louis was a son of Henry Meder.

I'm so happy to see the correct spelling for Dorothea (not Sauerbrei) because I could find nothing under that spelling!
