Leo F. Mellon, 67, died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church and was conducted by Msgr. Donald Sweeney. Mr. Mellon donated his body to science.
Leo Mellon was the son of Joseph P. and Bridget Riley Mellon and was born in Lourdes, Iowa, June 11, 1910. He was married June 27, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Violet Palm, who survives. He was a retired salesman.
Surviving besides his wife are one daughter, Sharon Mellon of solon; two sons, Joe and Mark, both of Guttenberg; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Cele Weber of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. George (Alyce) Doerr of Dubuque, and Mrs. Nate (Charlotte) Wheeler of Marion; and two brothers, Paul and Mike, both of Dubuque.
