Funeral held Monday from Trinity Lutheran Church
Mrs. Ferdinand Thiese died at 11:30 a.m. Friday in her mone in Clayton towhship. She had been ill for some time.
Mrs Thiese was born Minnie Weseman, daughter of Wm. and Emilie Weseman in Guttenberg November 9, 1877. She died at the age of 57 years, 11 months and 22 days.
She was married to Ferdinand Thiese in Guttenberg February 16, 1898, and after the mariage the couple settled on a farm in Clayton township where the deceased spent the remainder of her life.
She is survived by her husband, four sons, Emil Thiese of McGregor, Alfred Thiese of St. Olaf, and Ernst Thiese and Ferdinand Thiese Jr., who live at home; two daughters, Mrs Marvin Holtz of Elkader and Mrs. Leroy Schlake of Farmersburg; five sisters, Mrs. J. R. Curran and Mrs. Rudolph Woock of Guttenberg, Mrs. Herman Blunk of Garnavillo, Mrs. T. E. Prouty of Marquette, and Miss Martha Weseman of Clayton township; one brother, Louis Weseman of Hollywood, Calif., seven grand children and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thiese were held Monday afternoon in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. Rev. Martin Peters officiated at the rites. Burial was in City cemetery.
