Funeral services for Pfc. Robert C. Beck, Littleport killed in Korea Nov. 16 during an enemy attack, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hope Lutheran church, Littleport. Burial will be in Union cemetery there.
The body is expected to arrive at the Witt funeral home here tomorrow (Friday) morning.
Pfc. Beck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Beck, was born July 28, 1927, on a farm near Littleport. He was drafted in 1946 and spent a year in service during which time he served with the army of occupation in Japan and Okinawa.
He returned home in 1947 and on July 29, 1952, reenlisted in the regular army. He was assigned to the infantry and on Sept. 05 reported to the camp in San Francisco, from where he went to Japan and on to Korea. He was killed about three weeks after his arrival in Korea.
Surviving are the parents; four brothers, Lawrence, of Littleport, Realto, Deitrich and John all of Rockford, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Jack (Iona) Klinoff, of Waterloo. The Elkader chapters of the Americal Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in charge of military rites Saturday.

Robert Beck, 26, Killed In Korean War.
Special to the Gazette. Elkader - Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Beck of Littleport received word Friday night from the defense department that their son, Robert, 26, was killed in Korea Nov. 16.
A veteran of World war II, Beck was in the reserve army until re-enlisting in the regular army last July. He was home on furlough about six weeks ago.
Upon return to duty, he was given a choice of going either to Germany or Korea. Beck chose Korea. He left the United States about a month ago, and was in Korea only about two weeks before he was killed.
In addition to his parents, who live on a farm near Littleport, Beck is survived by four brothers, Dietrich, Realto and John, all of Rockford, Ill., and Lorin, Littleport, and a sister, Mrs. Iona Klinoff, Waterloo.
