Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for William Sadler were held Saturday, June 13, 1992 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona, Iowa. Father John Moran officiated. Honorary pallbearers were Clarence Youngblut, Jr. and Joseph Sweeney. Active pallbearers were Curt Bucknell, Donald Sadler, Todd Sadler, Robert R. Sadler, James Kayser, and Dan Cahoon. Burial was in the St. Patrick's Cemetery. Schultz Funeral Home was in charge of services.
William John Sadler, son of Leo J. and Bernice (Fettkether) Sadler, was born May 9, 1935 in Black Hawk County, Iowa. He graduated from the Jesup Community School. William was united in marriage to Rosella M. Nie on November 24, 1958 at Gilbertville, Iowa. To this union seven children were born. He was a lifetime farmer. They have lived the past 14 years in the Monona, Iowa area and resided in the LaPorte City, Iowa area previous to that. William served in the Navy during the Korean War. William died Tuesday, June 9, 1992 at his home reaching the age of 57 years and 1 month.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Bernice, who died in 1966 and his father, Leo, who died in 1970, a son Leo Sadler, and a daughter, Mary Sadler.
He is survived by his wife, Rosella; a son Jacob Sadler of Monona, Iowa, 4 daughters: Diana Sadler of Racine, Wisconsin, Linda Meyer of Westby, Wisconsin, Annette Sadler and Kimberly Sadler, both of Monona, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer, Rebecca, and Brice Meyer; 2 sisters, Virginia Elrod and Joan Youngblut, both of Waterloo, Iowa; 3 brothers, Bernard Sadler of Postville, Iowa, Robert Sadler of Washburn, Iowa and Paul Sadler of Martell, Iowa; several uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
