Funeral services for Ernie R. Lang, 77, Castalia, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 4, 1971, at the Congregational Church in McGregor, with Rev. Paxton Smith officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove cemetery, McGregor.
He died Thursday, April 1, at the Postville Community Memorial hospital. He had made his home the past four years with his daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Schultz, Castalia.
Ernie R. Lang was born November 9, 1894, in Marquette, the son of Heinrick and Emilie Reinhold Lang. He was united in marriage with Isabell Coffman, May 28, 1927, in Postville, and they were the parents of six children.
He was a mechanic for the Milwaukee railroad for 45 years and had served in the service during World War I. He was preceded in death by his wife, who died May 19, 1966, and a brother, Fred.
Survivors include his children: William, of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Kenneth (Ernestine) Schultz, of Castalia; Mrs. Irvin (Luan) Kregel and Mrs. Leroy (Carlene) Lettington, both of Marion and John and Robert, both of McGregor.
He is also survived by four sisters: Mrs. Irma Dykeman, of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Selma McKeague, of Oak Lawn, Ill.; Mrs. Meta Montour, of St. Olaf, and Mrs. Clarence (Grace) Boots, of Monona.
