Mrs J.C. Beck, formerly a resident of Elkport, Iowa, died at Lansing, Iowa at the home of her daughter, Mrs Jennie Wittbecker, on Thursday, Dec 4, 1924, at the age of about 73 years.Wm. and Henrietta Tiede, parents of Anna Tiede, arrived in Guttenberg in 1851, having come from Hamburg, Germany. They resided here four years and went from here to Elkport where they made their home.
Anna became the wife of Johann Christian Beck who was engaged in the mercantile pursuits at Elkport until his death a number of years ago. Recently Mrs Beck made her home with her daughter, Mrs Wittbecker of Lansing.
Brothers and sisters survive her, of whom Mrs Emma Heine, formerly of Guttenberg but now of Santa Ana, Cal, is one and who helped care for her during her last days. A son Edward resides at Los Angeles, Cal.; another son Arthur, lives at Chicago. The body was taken to Elkport for burial.

Mrs. Anna Beck, nee Anna W. Heiden, was born in Hamburg, Germany, April 15, 1849. She came to this country with her parents when three years old. She was married June 18, 1870, to J. C. Beck. Four children were born to this union of whom one, William, and the husband preceded her in death. She has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Robert A. Wittenbecker of Lansing, for most of the past 17 years. She has been in ill health for several years and a complication of diseases resulted in her death Dec. 4, 1924.
