Robert Tayek

Robert James Tayek was born November 25, 1923 in McGregor to parents Jacob and Marjorie Burlingame Tayek. He was baptized at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Monona.

He died Saturday, April 2, 1988 at the Clement Zablocki Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.

He grew up in Froelich. He attended Froelich elementary school and Monona High School, graduating in 1941. He then attended the University of Iowa. In 1943 Robert entered the army and served in World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Surviving is a son, David of Sunland, CA; 3 grandchildren and one brother, Reuben of LaGrange Park, IL.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 6, 1988 at Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona, IA. Father John Moran officiated. Burial was in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, McGregor. The Monona AMVETS Post 27 served as pallbearers and conducted military services.
