Was Widow of Civil War Veteran: Came Here Years AgoFuneral services for Mrs. George DOUGLASS, widow of a Civil War Veteran, were held Tuesday afternoon
Juliette WATTS was born in Neccedah, Wisconsin, February 23, 1848 and passed away at McGregor, Iowa, August 27, 1933 at the age of 85 years.
She was united in marriage to George S. Douglass, August 1, 1875, at Neccedah, Wisconsin, and later moved to McGregor where she has since made her home.
She was a member of the Congregational church and was active in social affairs up to the time of her illness. She was also a member of the Woman’s Relief Corps.
She is survived by eight children: Rachel, Mrs. Arley LeHEW of Waukon Junction; Ethel, Mrs. Chris BECK of Chicago; Mrs. Dorothy SINSEN of Lyons, Iowa; Arthur of Dysart; Earl of Detroit; and Albert, Homer and Ervie of McGregor; also twenty-four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death three years ago.
