Mrs. Fuhrman Funeral Services

Funeral services for Mrs. William Fuhrman, 88, were held at St. John Lutheran church in Farmersburg, Thursday afternoon, March 13, at 1:30 o'clock with Rev. R. H. Steege officiating.

Burial was in the Farmersburg Wagner cemetery.

Mrs. Fuhrman died Monday afternoon, March 10, at a nursing home in Ossian, where she had been taken March 2, 1969.

As Amanda, she was born the daughter of Karl and Dorothea, nee Schmalfeldt, Lenth in Farmersburg township, Oct. 25, 1880. She was baptized as an infant in Zion Lutheran church at Clayton Center.

She received her education in the rural school of her community. She attended religious school at Zion Lutheran church and was confirmed there.

She was married to William Fuhrman, Oct. 19, 1904, in Farmersburg. After their marriage they first lived on a farm south of Farmersburg. In 1920 they sold their farm and moved to St. Olaf, where they continued to live until 1964 when they sold their hold [house?] and moved to Castalia to make their home with Mrs. Fuhrman's niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Carlous Meyer.

Mr. Fuhrman died April 17, 1968. After his death, Mrs. Fuhrman continued to live in the Meyer home until Jan. 3 of this year when she was taken to the Postville hospital for treatment. She remained at the hospital until Feb. 17 when she returned to the Meyer home. She was taken to a nursing home at Ossian, March 2, where she died.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and three brothers.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

Music at the services was provided by a trio composed of Mrs. John Bissell, Mrs. Orval Mueller and Mrs. Reuben Mueller. Mrs. R. H. Steege was the organist.
