William Henry Fred Mueller

Funeral services for William Henry Fred Mueller were held at West Clermont Lutheran Church, Thursday, June 27, 1985. Rev. Kim Peterson officiated at the service and Muehlethaler's were in charge of arrangements.

He was born July 11, 1893 at Clayton Center, the son of William and Alvina (Wilke) Mueller. He received his education in Clayton County rural schools; was baptized and confirmed in Clayton Center. He served in the U.S. Army from April 26, 1918 to June 16, 1919.

February 5, 1920 he married Leida Ahlers at Luana. They were the parents of two children: Caroline and George. They farmed near Farmersburg for 6 years and then moved to RR #1, Elgin, Iowa where they farmed for many years. Bill resided in the Eastern Star Home at Decorah for the past month where his death occurred Tuesday morning. He was 91 years old.

Survivors include his wife Leida of Elgin, his son George of West Union and his daughter Mrs. George (Caroline) Wander of Postville; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a brother Henry Mueller of St. Olaf and seven sisters, Mrs. Emma Havelick, Postville, Mrs. Greta Bruns, Decorah, Mrs. Louisa Dorman, Lockport, IL, Mrs. Alvina Landt, Monona; Mrs. Alma Leuchtenmacher, Farmersburg, Mrs. Amanda Dennler, Elkader and Mrs. Sophia Wacker, Waukon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Arnold and Helmuth.

Interment was in God's Acres Cemetery, Clermont. Pallbearers were Michael Friederich, Lorenz Landt, John McMillan, Jacob Friederich, Merle Ruckdaschel and Henry McMillan.
