Services for Joni Egan were Tues., Sept. 12, 1989, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Monona. Father John Moran officiated. Organist was Kathryn Fritz. Special music by St. Patrick's Catholic Church Choir and Carol Gerdes. Burial was in Cherry Mound Catholic Cemetery, rural Harpers Ferry, Iowa.

Joni L. Kliefoth Egan was born in Postville, Iowa, February 19, 1964, to parents Bernell and Marjorie (Holly) Kliefoth. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Monona. She received her education in the M-F-L schools graduating in 1982.

On June 4, 1983 Joni was united in marriage to Michael Egan at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Monona. The couple made their home in Monona. Joni was employed as a lab technician at Swiss Valley Farms in Luana.

Joni died Saturday, September 9, 1989, at University Hospital in Iowa City following heart surgery. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Joni enjoyed water skiing, playing piano, bowling, volleyball and growing roses.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Edwin and Milda Kliefoth and Albert and Annie Holly.

Surviving is her husband, Michael; her parents, Bernell and Marjorie Kliefoth, of Cresco; 22 nieces and nephews and 1 great niece.

Honorary pallbearers, Julie Bollman, Anne Hemesath, Cressa Blumhagen, Ann Jacobs, Sally Cook, Laurie Garms, Bobbie Heying, Julie Mara, Jean Mueller, Julie Kruse and Russ Jones. Active pallbearers were Tom Rose, Bruce Cliff, Brad Jacobs, Mick Gesie, Don Dee, Lee Colsch, Ken Winke, and Bill Lloyd. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, Iowa, in charge of services.
