Funeral services for Doris Evanson were held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 5 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona. Pastor Harold O. Ward officiated. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Monona. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of services.
Doris Darlene Dundee Evanson was born April 15, 1930 at McGregor to parents Rance and Leta (Hamon) Dundee. She received her education in Forest Mills country school and Waukon High School.
January 20, 1950 she married Alton O. Evanson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple had 8 children. They lived in Churchtown, Waterville, Garnavillo and Monona. Doris was employed at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital and later at Northern Engraving in Waukon until the time of her illness.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She died Friday, October 2, 1987 at Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse following a long illness.
Preceding her in death was her father, Rance Dundee.
Surviving is her husband, Alton; six sons: Randy Butler, Redding, California; Roger Evanson, Coggon; Ronald, Randy and Terry Evanson of Monona, and Jerry of Sandwich, Illinois; 3 daughters: Charlene Wolter of Manchester, Dorothy Patterson of Moline, Illinois and Connie Gunderson of Monona; her mother, Mrs. Leta Dundee of Rossville; 16 grandchildren and one brother, Milo Dundee of Marquette.
Pallbearers were Milo Lee Dundee, Larry Dundee, James Evanson, Steve Evanson, Rick Mathis and Dave Mathis.
