Frederick Henry Nuehring

Frederick Henry Nuehring, son of John H. and Alice Kruse Nuehring, was born June 6, 1921 on the family farm southwest of Luana. He died Wednesday, March 11, 1992. He was 70.

Frederick received his education at the Pleasant Grove Country School. On September 30, 1942 he married Vivian Canoe at the Little Brown Church. They had five children.

He had worked as a truck driver for 50 years, most recently for Gary Pritchard Trucking. He and his wife had lived in Farmersburg since 1952. Frederick enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and carpentry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronald; and two brothers, Orville and John.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian; one son, Curtis D. of Farmersburg; three daughters -- Carol L. (Mrs. Chuck) Tuley of Cedar Rapids, Karen R. (Mrs. Dan) Stewart of St. Olaf, and Sharon K. Erickson of Monona. Also surviving are nine grandchildren -- Karensa Nuehring, (Mrs. Choo) Lee, Kurt F. Nuehring, Shantel Nuehring (Mrs. Christian) Davies, Beth Liche, Ben Erickson, Bree Erickson, Bret Tuley, Byron Tuley and Shannon Stewart; two brothers, Daymond of Postville and Marlyn of Monona; four sisters, Leila Fett of Monona, LaVerda Welzel of Eldorado, Lorene Swenson of Garrison, Minn., and Mrs. Frances Fette of Waseca, Minn; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 14, 1992 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Rev. Benjamin Davis officiating. Pallbearers were Orville Nuehring, Jr., Leo Fette, Mark Nuehring, Kevin Nuehring, Arlen Nuehring, Kevin Ferguson, Dan Ferguson, and Robert Fett. Honorary pallbearers were L'Dean Krambeer, George Erbe, Jerry Dougherty, James Leete, Mick Krambeer, and Gary Pritchard. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services.
