Mamie Elizabeth Burlingame, the youngest child of Ben and Elizabeth Burlingame, died at her home near Froelich on Monday, Feb. 26th, 1906, after an illness of three weeks with inflammatory rheumatism. Little Mamie was born May 28th, 1904, at Davenport, Iowa. Her death has brought a shock to everyone for she was loved by all who knew her. The funeral services were held Wednesday in the Bohemian Catholic Church near Watson, conducted by Rev. Father Hogan of Monona. She leaves her parents, one sister and two brothers to mourn her loss.
