Peter P. Junk Dead.
Peter P. Junk died of paralysis at the home of his son Peter, the old homestead on Clayton ridge, Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 24th, at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 14 days. Deceased was born in Dreis, Rhemish Provice, Government of Trier, Prussia, January 10, 1831. He was married to Miss Barbara Schummer January 1, 1860. In 1869, with his wife and three children, he came to America and arrived at Guttenberg on the 26th of December. He purchased a farm and engaged in farming until about seven years ago, when he moved to Guttenberg. About a year ago his vitality began to lessen and his memory began to fail since spring. Several weeks ago he was taken to the farm home where he was properly taken care of. Eight children were born to this union. Two sons and one daughter died as infants. He is survived by his wife and five sons and eighteen grandchildren. The sons are: John, Peter, Joseph, who reside on farms and Vincent and William in Guttenberg. The funeral will be held this (Friday) morning with services at St. Mary's church, conducted by Rev. J.H. Brinkmann. Interment will be in the new Catholic cemetery.--------
