Funeral services for Vernice M. Breitsprecher, 62, Farmersburg, were held Tuesday, December 15, 1981 at Norway Lutheran Church, St. Olaf, with Pastor Keith Klemm officiating. Burial was at the Norway Lutheran Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Brink, Elmer Fuelling, Quentin Torkelson, Larry Ihde, Kevin Ihde, and Robert Hilgerson. Mrs. Breitsprecher died Saturday, December 12, 1981, at Central Community Hospital, Elkader.
Mrs. Breitsprecher was born June 6, 1919, in Reed Township, Clayton County, to James W. and Adelia Meyer Foran. She graduated from Garnavillo High School and worked for the Department of Agriculture.Vernice was married to Kenneth Breitsprecher June 9, 1945, at Zion Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She lived on the family farm after her marriage until 1958 when they moved to their present home at St. Olaf. She was a member of the Norway Lutheran Church ALCW.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Jean (Mrs. Mel) Butikofer, Oelwein, Mary Breitsprecher, Ankeny, and Lois Breitsprecher, Coralville; two grandchildren, Mike and Mollie; one brother, Harold, El Paso, Texas.
Mrs. Breitsprecher was preceded in death by her parents.
