GUTTENBERG: Frank Harter, 82, passed away Jan. 06 at his home after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, Jan. 09 from the Steger funeral home to St. Mary's Catholic church.
The services were conducted by the Rev. L. Grunewald and burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mr. Harter was born Oct. 04, 1869, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harter in Clayton county.
He was a resident of this city for 53 years and was employed at Chalmers Pearl Button factory for a good many years.
On April 27, 1899 he was married to Elizabeth Wessel at Dyersville.
He is survived by his wife and three children, Sister Placida (Frances) of Spokane, Wash., Adolph of Milwaukee, Aloysius of Kewaskum, Wis.; one brother, John of Marshfield, Wis.; a sister, Mrs. Sebina Schneider of Aberdeen, S.D.
Pallbearers were: John Stoeffler, Ed. Huene, Ed. Nieland and Wm. Vogt.
