Funeral services for Ralph Schoulte, 16, were held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the Schultz funeral home with the Rev. H. H. Frohn of Our Redeemer Lutheran church at Elkader officiating.
Burial was in the City cemetery.
Ralph died Saturday morning, Dec. 25, at 3 o'clock in the McGregor hospital from injuries received in a car accident Friday night, Dec. 24, at about 9 o'clock.
He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Schoulte, born July 23, 1938, near National. He grew up on the farm of his parents and attended the rural school near their place. In 1949 Ralph was afflicted with polio, which left him disabled in his walk.
In 1950 the Schoulte family moved to Monona. Ralph attended the Monona public school one year and completed his seventh and eighth grades at the Froelich school. He was taking a correspondence course from Chicago university at the time of his death.
He was baptized in 1954 and attended confirmation school at Elkader.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Norma of Davenport and Adele of Monona, a number of uncles, aunts and cousins.
Music was furnished by Sandra Schultz and Nancy Schweikert, accompanied by Mrs. George Heins, organist.
Pallbearers were Bruce Whittle, Alan Bruehahn, David, Dennis and Darrell Rogness, and Virgil Bruns.
