The death of Mrs. P. A. Wolf, 77, occurred early Friday morning Jan. 16, at her home in Volga following a long illness.
She was the former Magdalen Ferring, daughter of Michael and Eva (Brecht) Ferring. She was born at Bankston, Iowa on March 12, 1875. On Feb. 10, 1904, she was married to P. A. Wolf and they resided in Dubuque county, later moving to Clayton county, where she had been a resident the past twenty-seven years. She was a life-long Catholic, and a member of Sacred Heart parish at Volga.
Her Husband Peter A. survives, also two daughters, Celestine of Volga and Mrs. A. J. (Marguerite) Rooney, Dubuque; two sons, R. C. of Volga and Francis of Clermont, ten grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. D. E. Daly, Dubuque; Miss Mayme Ferring, Dyersville; three brothers, N. J. Ferring, San Francisco, Calif., Matt Ferring, Des Moines and W. B. Ferring, Dyersville.
Her parents, one sister and four brothers preceded her.
Funeral services were held Monday at Sacred Heart church, with the pastor, the Rev. Francis Bradshaw, celebrant of the Requiem High Mass. Burial was in Sacred Heart cemetery, Volga, where Father Bradshaw officiated at the graveside.
Bearers were: P. W. Minihan, Wm. Christeleit, Wm. Wilker, Robert Garms, Clarence Zappf and Loy Shea.
