Henry Morton, 47, died Monday at the State Hospital in Independence of pneumonia. He had been there 10 years. He was the son of Andrew and Martha Joy Morton, born at Strawberry Point September 24, 1898. On October 06, 1928 he was married to Sophia Woellert. Surviving are the wife, two daughters Valetta and Verla, his mother Mrs. Duane Whitlock of Strawberry Point, three half-brothers Duane Whitlock in the U.S. Navy at Honolulu, Sidney Whitlock of Strawberry Point, and Eugene at Boise, Idaho, a half-sister Mrs. Harry Pierce of Epworth, Iowa. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Park Anderson at the Gill Funeral chapel Thursday afternoon. The body was placed in the receiving vault at the local cemetery. Casket bearers were: Will Fliehler, Ed Jackson, Joe Komark, Fred Pfrommer, John Pfrommer and Lawrence Thomas.
