Claton County Register, 28 Dec. 1944.

Ferdinand Weig, 75, died at his home here Tuesday, Dec. 19. He was the son of Christ and Margaret Wesender Weig, born in Germany, Dec. 08, 1869. Feb. 09, 1897 he was married to Kate Miller. They farmed until retiring to Strawberry Point in 1923. He was a trustee of the Emanuel Lutheran church for 25 years.

Survivors are the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Fred Birrer; two sons, Leonard Weig and Alfred Weig, all of Strawberry Point; five grandchildren; one brother, John Weig of Dubuque; three sisters, Mrs. Nick Anton, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Bert Clemenson, Omaha; Mrs. Anna Ortman, St. Paul, Minn.

Funeral services were Thursday with burial in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
