GARNAVILLO: Funeral services for August Obermoeller, 84, who died June 06, were held at St. Paul's Lutheran church here Friday afternoon. The Rev. Victor Hackbarth officiating.

August Frederick Obermoeller was born Oct. 24, 1859, in Garnavillo township, the son of Peter and Anna Obermoeller. Feb. 26, 1886, he married Anna Katherine Greiman and they established their home on a farm in Farmersburg township and lived there until 1920 when they moved to Garnavillo. Mr and Mrs. Obermoeller celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1936.

Besides his wife, Mr. Obermoeller is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Chris Bierbaum of Garnavillo, Mrs. Wm. Nieman of Clarksville and Mrs. Ewald Hardt of St. Olaf, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Three of his grandsons are in the armed forces. Two daughters and two sons preceded their father in death.

Mr. Obermoeller was buried in the old cemetery. Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral were: Will Nieman, son Galer and daughter Ila and Louise Garbes of Clarksville; Mr. and Mrs. Gideon Wittenberg and daughter Mary Ann of Garner.
