Clayton County Register, 09 Sept. 1943.
VOLGA CITY: Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Ira. C. Moore home for Sandra Lucille Moore, 14 months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira D. Moore, who died Wednesday, Sept. 01, at her parents' home following a short illness. The child had not been very strong since her birth on July 03, 1942. She is survived by her parents, one sister, Shirley, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira C. Moore and Mrs. Eva Witham of Wadena.
The Rev. D. V. Butler, pastor of the Methodist church, had charge of the service.
Four girls carried the little casket. They were Mary Robinson, Evelyn Hulverson, Norma Moore, and Gwendolyn Burns.
Among those from out of town who attended the child's funeral were: Mrs. J. S, Moore, Waterloo; Mrs. Herbert Sturm, West Union; Mrs. Jason Bailey, Fayette; Mrs. Ethel Fry, West Union; Harold and Delbert Witham, Elkader; Mrs. Eva Witham, Mrs. Wm. Hinton, Mrs. Merle Voshell, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Moore, all of Wadena.
