ELKPORT: Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the John Jaster home to St. John's church at Garber for Dorothy Marie Jaster. Burial was made in the East Side cemetery at Elkader. The Rev. J. Gaterman officiated at the church and the Rev. P. Kitterer at the graveside.
Pallbearers were Donald and LaMar Chettinger, Ernest Groth, Melvin Webber, Lloyd McGuire and Howard Rentschler.
Flower carriers were Blanche and Bernadine Smock, Betty Voss and Georgina Tieden.
Dorothy Marie Jaster, daughter of William Wistrick and Clara Lundt, was born June 27, 1916, near Elkader and died at her home near West Branch, of embolism, on July 30 at 12:30 p.m. and had reached the age of 27 years, one month and three days.
On April 07, 1935, she was married to Emil Jaster at Garber. They had two children. They resided in Garber until 1937 when they moved to a farm near West Branch where she resided until her death.
She leaves to mourn her sudden death, her husband, a daughter, Lois Elaine and three-weeks-old son Emil Edward at home, two half-sisters and one half-brother namely: Mrs. Herman (Venita) Harris and Dixie Mae Wistrick of Elkader, Fieldon Wistrick of Strawberry Point and her father.
She was preceded in death by her mother when she was five weeks old on July 31, 1916.
