David Losch, 86, died at his home in Elkader Thursday, March 18, 1943, after being in failing health for some time, due to the infirmities of old age.

Mr. Losch was the son of Mathias and Louisa Losch, and was born in Boardman township, five miles north of Elkader, on April 16, 1857. Most of his life was spent on the farm. In 1936 with his sister Mary and brother Henry he moved to Elkader, which has since been his home.

He is survived by two sisters, Miss Mary Losch and Mrs. Peter Miller, and one brother, Henry Losch, all of Elkader.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning, March 20th, at 9 o'clock from the Witt Funeral chapel and at 9:30 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic church, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. James P. Taken officiating. Burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery with the following pallbearers: Fred Thillen, Dominick Willmes, Fred Eggiman, Harry Kelleher, Arthur Connors and Nick Miller.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mrs. C. V. Houlihan of Des Moines, Edwin Losch of Des Moines, Harry Connors of Cresco, Dr. Merle Miller of Ossian, Miss Collene Kelleher of Peoria, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Masuen of Garnavillo, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Miller of Littleport.
