Funeral services for Raymond B. Strube, 56, were held from the home of his mother, Mrs. R. C. Strube, at Garber at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, Sept. 22. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in Mt. Harmony cemetery. The Masonic lodge from Colesburg and the American Legion had charge of the services at the grave.
Mr. Strube died at San Antonio, Texas, Friday, Sept. 19. The cause of death was a heart ailment with which he had been afflicted for some time.
Raymond B. Strube, the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Strube, was born June 06, 1891, at Garber, where he spent his early years. He received his education in the Elkport school and was a graduate of that school.
Mr. Strube, a chef by trade, had lived in San Antonio, Texas, and Des Moines. He served in the army during World War I and held the rank of mess sergeant. He was a member of the Masonic order.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. R. C. Strube, a sister, Mrs. Morris Bowman, both of Garber, a brother John, and a sister Grace both of Alhambra, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Edward.
Pallbearers were: H. M. Wolf, Henry Schnepf, Geo. Gifford, Elmer Morley, Elmer Zittergruen, and Delbert Hyde.
