Funeral services for Irwin W. Wahls, 51, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock from the Schultz funeral home, Monona, to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. R. C. Schlueter officiating. Burial was in the city cemetery.

Mr. Wahls died Sunday morning, Sept. 7, at 3:05 o'clock at a LaCrosse, Wis., hospital, where he had been a patient since August 19. He submitted to an operation for gall stones August 25. He had not been in the best of health for several years.

He was born Jan. 14, 1896, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wahls, Farmersburg township. His mother died Sept. 2, 1897, after which he and his father made their home with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Seeland, for a time.

He was married Sept. 24, 1927, to Marie Lenth of Elkader at Albert Lea, Minn. They lived on farms near Elkader, St. Olaf and West Union. For the last ten years they have made their home on the Blaha farm, east of Monona.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a half-brother, Clarence Wahls of Postville, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Anna Funk of St. Olaf and Mrs. Milo Fuelling of Guttenberg.

His parents and a brother preceded him in death.

Music at the funeral services was provided by a quartet composed of Mrs. Lydia Pufahl, the Rev. and Mrs. R. C. Schlueter and the Rev. A. E. Schlueter. Mrs. George Heins was the organist.

Pallbearers were: Frank Sudol, Jr., Floyd Weaver, Don Johanningmeier, Norbert Lembke, Harry Johnson, Elmer Kelpien, Ray Wiethorn, and Henry Erbes, Sr.
