Sam Olvis died at his home here Saturday about 5 p.m., after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church.

Funeral services for Samuel Olvis, 76, were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the home in Farmersburg to St. John's Lutheran church, the Rev. R. H. Steege officiating. Burial was in the Eno cemetery. Mr. Olvis died Saturday, Aug. 02, after a long illness. Eight years ago he became ill of diabetes.
He was born on a farm near Wilmington, Ohio, May 10, 1871, ____ __ Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Olvis.
On Nov. 30, 1915, he was married ____ ____ at Bismark, N.D. In ____ he moved to Luana, where he worked as a mason. During his 19 years' residence in Luana he served as mayor and assessor for several years. They moved to Farmersburg in 1944.
He is survived by his widow.
Pallbearers were: Herman Christofferson and W. H. Behrens of Postville, Carl Gall, Louis Walke, Harold Lenth and Charles Stade of Farmersburg.
