Mrs. Amelia Schmidt, 81, died at Mercy hospital, Oelwein, Saturday evening where she was taken a few hours before, following a fall down stairs at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Zwanziger, where she had been making her home.
Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. H. E. Hahn, in St. Sebald Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in the St. Sebald cemetery. Casket bearers were grandsons: Walter Zwanziger, Otto Zwanziger, Raymond Schmidt, Dale Nodurft, Donald Nus and Donald Schmidt.
Amelia Eder, daughter of G. M. and Maria Heilman Eder, was born near Strawberry Point Nov. 15, 1865. On Oct. 09, 1884, she was married to Ludwig Schmidt. They farmed in the St. Sebald community. Mr. Schmidt died Jan. 09, 1938.
Survivors are: four daughters, Mrs. Carl Zwanziger and Mrs. Paul Schuchmann, Strawberry Point; Mrs. William Nodurft, Edgewood; Mrs. Frank Nus, Arlington; eight sons, Louie, Mike, Oscar, Alfred and Carl Strawberry Point, Ernest and August, Arlington, and Henry, Volga; 42 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; a brother, Mike Eder, Strawberry Point, and a sister, Mrs. Albert Eppler, Dubuque.
