Funeral services for Peter Lannon, 77, who died at Mercy hospital in Dubuque late Friday afternoon following a short illness, were held from the McTaggart funeral home at 9:45 Monday morning to St. Joseph's Catholic church at 10 a.m. The Rt. Rev. B. Skahill officiated at the requiem mass. Burial was made in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery.
Pete Lannon was born in Killglass County, Ireland, the son of Arthur and Catherine (Malary) Lannon. He had lived in Elkader and vicinity for many years.
Casket bearers were: Hugh Connor, Andrew Cassidy, Leo Roach, Phillip Boland, Thomas Cassidy and John Roach.
Relatives from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Malary, Clear Lake, Iowa; Mrs. E. L. Nus, Manchester; Mrs. J. S. Crane, Mrs. J. F. Quinlin, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Crane, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Crane, all of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. McKinley Gag_, Wadena, Iowa.
