Funeral services for William Imlau were held at Emanuel's Lutheran church Thursday afternoon conducted by the Rev. Max O. Jahr. The hymns were sung by Mrs. Bradley Hopper and Mrs. Adolph Schuchmann, Miss Helene Jahr playing the accompaniment. The pall-bearers were Alwin Burrack, Walter Fredrick, Donald Roloff, William Imlau, Jr., Bruno Kamoss and George Chappell. Burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
As a son of Carl and Caroline Imlau, he was born at Langkiman, Prussia, Germany, on Oct. 12, 1859, and died Tuesday morning at his home after a lingering illness. He came to the United States when eighteen years old and settled on a farm four miles southwest of Strawberry Point. For the past twenty-six years he has resided in town. In 1886 he was married to Bertha Louise Herzman. To this union six children were born - two Mrs. John (Anna) Burrack and Mrs. Richard (Laura) Kamoss preceded their father in death. The remaining children are Mrs. Herman (Tillie) Roloff, Edgewood; Frank Imlau and Mrs. Walter (Bertha) Fredrick, Strawberry Point; and Mrs. William Rosenthal, Canton, Minn., sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, also one sister, Mrs. Yetta Beuchner of Strawberry Point.
