GUTTENBERG: John William Overbeck died at the hospital in Iowa City on Tuesday evening at 10:30.

He had been in poor health for several years and on Monday he was taken to Iowa City.

Mr. Overbeck was born on a farm near Guttenberg, March 05, 1885.

On January 25, 1910, Miss Augusta Becker and Mr. Overbeck were married and have been residing on a farm near Guttenberg.

Mrs. Overbeck, one daughter, Mrs. Leatha Bodenschotz of Garnavillo and one son, Verni of Guttenberg, two sisters, Mrs. Henry Moser of Osterdock, Mrs. A. Wirkler of Garnavillo and one brother Albert of Mason City mourn his death.

Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at St. Paul's Lutheran church with the Rev. Harvey Coovert officiating. Burial was made in the Guttenberg cemetery.
