Strawberry Point: Burial services for Claude L. Eaton of Armstrong, a former resident of this place, were held here Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. James E. McLain, pastor of the Congregational church with the Masonic rites. Mr. Eaton, son of Adel D. and Nellie Eaton, was born in Strawberry Point on Aug. 12, 1869. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Merkl of Edgewood. To them were born three children. Mrs. Eaton died and he was later married to Callie Cooley of Savanna, Ill. For many years he was a druggist at Lamont and Strawberry Point being in partnership here with the late Dr. I. P. Howard later moving to Armstrong where he followed his profession. Surviving are the widow and three children Harold Eaton at home, Mrs. Roscoe (Hermione) Ayers, Iowa City, and Mrs. Barney (Jane) Lewis, of Oakland, Calif., also three sisters and two brothers; Mrs. Winnie Chase, Mrs. Blanche Thode and Miss Trix Eaton, all of St. Paul, Minn., Dr. Hal M. Eaton, Strawberry Point, and Carl Eaton, Adam, Wis., and one grandchild.
