STRAWBERRY POINT: Funeral services for John F. Grassmeyer were held at the home Thursday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Glenn S. Hartong, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

John Frederick Grassmeyer, son of August and Louisa Grassmeyer, was born near Hamburg, Germany, on Oct. 23, 1863 and died at his home, Tuesday morning from the effects of a stroke. At the age of four years he came with his parents to America and settled in Jones county. In 1885 he became naturalized. On Oct. 30, 1892, he was married to Hannah Steward. The home has always been made here and he was the last one of his own immediate family to go. For 35 years he worked as a plumber in one of the hardware stores here. Surviving is the wife.
