Funeral services for Gottfried Niedemeyer were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Gill Chapel and 2 o'clock from the Emanuel Lutheran church with the Rev. Max Jahr officiating. The congregation sang with Mrs. Don Tinker playing the accompaniment. The pall bearers were Chris Fliehler, William H. Sauerbry, Gottlieb Weger, William Opperman, Charles Bartels and Otto Baumgartner. Burial was made in the St. Sebald cemetery.
The deceased was born in the vicinity of St. Sebald, May 23, 1872 and died at his home here Sunday morning following a brief illness of bronchial pneumonia. He was baptized in infancy and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by the late Rev. G, H. Fuehr in 1886. He spent most of his time with his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Niedemeyer until their death. On Feb. 2, 1924 he was united in marriage to Edith L. Neuenkirch. The home has always been made in this vicinity. Surviving are his wife and six children: John, Lawrence, Gottlieb Jr., Rosa, Lydia and Ann Mae all at home.
