Loftsgard, Nels 1861 - 1940

Clayton County Register, 14 Feb. 1940.

Funeral services were held Wednesday for Nels Loftsgard 78, in the Marion Lutheran church at Gunder, the Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiating. Burial was in the Marion cemetery.

Mr. Loftsgard had been failing in health for some time. He died Saturday afternoon at his home two miles west of Gunder.

He was born December 26, 1861, and is survived by his wife and ten children Mary (Mrs. Henry Olson) of Clermont, Ole, living near Gunder, Tillie, (Mrs. Henry Amund_on of Clermont, Helgena, (Mrs. Elmer Nelson) of Elgin, Louis, of Luana, Sophia, living at home, Viola, (Mrs. Roy Johanningmeier) of Luana, and Melvin of Elgin. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
