LITTLEPORT: Mrs. Julia Bauman Meyer, daughter of George and Marie Bauman, was born Nov. 13, 1864, at Littleport, Ia., and died at her home Wednesday noon, Jan. 31, 1940, at the age of 75 years, two months and 18 days.

On Nov. 04, 1885, she was united in marriage to William Ernest Meyer and to this union four children were born. The eldest, a son, died in infancy.

Mrs. Meyer lived all her life in Clayton county. She was born and grew to womanhood about two miles northeast of Litteport and in 1915 Mrs. Meyer and her husband bought a home in Littleport where she since has resided until she died.

The deceased was baptized and confirmed in the Elkport Lutheran church. She was a charter member of the Littleport Lutheran Ladies Aid.

About three weeks ago Mrs. Meyer contracted the flu and was unable to fight it off.

Mrs. Meyer was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 12, 1934; and an infant son. She is mourned by her two daughters, Mrs. Alvina Voelker of Ryan, Mrs. Mabel Meacle of Washington, Ia., and one son, George H. Meyer, of Elkader; one sister, Mrs. Mary Osborne of Elkport; two brothers, Ed. Bauman of Minneapolis, and Robert Bauman of Los Angelis, Calif.; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Littleport Lutheran church with the Rev. Gehert officiating. Burial was made in the Union cemetery by the side of her husband.

Pall bearers were: Christ Behrens, Ed. Meese, Sylvester Curran, Wm. Hakert, John Lenhart and Charles Riechart.
