MCGREGOR: Patrick Stephen Monahan of Marquette died Jan. 26, 1940, at his home in Marquette following a long illness, and funeral services were held on Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic church, Father Horsfield officiating. Burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery at McGregor. Mr. Monahan came to the United States 70 years ago when he was a child seven years of age, having been born in Glasgow, Scotland, March 01, 1863. The family settled in this vicinity so he was one of Marquette's early settlers. He was employed by the Milwaukee railroad for many years as bridge foreman, retiring in 1934, because of failing health. He is survived by one brother, John, who is last of a large family.
