Mrs. Margaret Dunn died at her home here Sunday at 4:30 a.m., of a heart ailment, after an illness of about two years. She had been bedfast for the last nine weeks.

Margaret (Carter) Dunn was born on a farm in Cox Creek township on January 09, 1861, and at the time of her death had reached the age of 78 years, 11 months and eight days. At the age of three she accompanied her parents to Omaha, Nebr., where she received her education in a parochial school, and where she resided until her marriage.

In the year 1880, at Sacred Heart church in Cox Creek township, she was united in marriage with Peter Dunn and until 1914 they resided on a farm in that township. That year the family moved to Elkader, and this has been her home ever since.

Seven children were born to this union. One daughter, Evelyn, died at the age of five years. The surviving children are: Miss Winnifred Dunn and Mrs. Ella Looney, at home; Peter A. Dunn, Elkader; Clem Dunn, Waterloo; Earl and Jay Dunn, Seneca, Wis. Besides these, she is survived by eight grandchildren, two nieces - Mrs. Lawrence Dinan, Littleport, and Mrs. Chas. Rothmeyer, Monona - and one nephew, Mike Leonard, Elkader.

Mrs. Dunn was a devout member of St. Joseph's Catholic church here, a member of the Lady Foresters, Christian Mothers and Daughters, and Royal Neighbors of America, and for several years served as president of the Catholic Ladies Aid.

Funeral services were held in St. Joseph's Catholic church here Monday at 9:30 a.m., and burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery, Msgr. J. P. Taken officiating. Casketbearers were: Albert Meyers, George Costigan, Tom Looney, Clem Whittle, Gerald Dinan and Harley Downey.

Relatives and close friends from a distance who attended the services included: Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Dunn, West Union; D. J. Raftis and family, and Mr. and Mrs. John Lillis, Oelwein; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Friend, New Hampton; George C. Dunn, Waukesha, Wis.; Ray Dunn, Chicago; Earl Dunn, Jr., Manchester; Clem Dunn, Jr., Dubuque; Ed and Mike Dunn, Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Looney and Tom Looney, of Postville; Wm. Costigan, Elkport; Francis and John Feeney, Prairie du Chien, Wis.; Pat Dolan, Waterloo; Mrs. Kate Quinn, Strawberry Point; Mr. and Mrs. Dave Joy, Seneca, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Ed. McNiel, Postville.
