Mr. and Mrs. Manfried Henke are the parents of a son born Thursday, November 7, at Memorial hospital in Manchester. The Henkes, who are newcomers to Strawberry Point, reside in the trailer residence next to the Ben Brockmeyer home. Mr. Henry [sic] is employed by Seedorff Masonry. The baby joins a sister.

A Strawberry Point infant, William Henke, one month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Manfred Henke, was killed and three others injured in a crash that occurred Thursday night when two cars sideswiped each other on Highway 52-67 about two miles north of St. Donatus or 12 miles south of Dubuque.
Also injured in the crash were the infant's mother, Mary Ann, the father, Manfred and a sister Pennie age 4. All were taken to Finley Hospital in Dubuque where the mothers condition was first listed as "critical" and the father and daughter as "fair".
The infant was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery* in Maquoketa.
The Henke family lives in the trailer house just across the street from the Strawberry Point school. He is employed by the Seedorff Construction Company. They were enroute to Chicago for the holidays when the accident occurred.
