Clayton County Register, 05 July 1939.

MONONA: Funeral services for William Schlitter, aged 63, were held at ten o'clock Wednesday morning from the home and at ten-thirty from the Pilgrim Evangelical church, the Rev. H. W. Raduege officiated and burial was made in the Council Hill cemetery. He died at his home Sunday afternoon after an illness of several months duration. Surviving him are the widow and fourteen children also three brothers.
